Our aim is to make staying at Fale Yau as convenient and as easy as possible for the Business Traveller.
This starts from before you arrive
Airport Pick Up
If you are flying to Nausori we can arrange to have a taxi meet your flight. Typically, we use Ali who has been driving our family since 2006.
Check In
There is no true check in time. If your room was free the day before you can check in as early as 7am. If we can’t give you your room right away, we can still give you breakfast, coffee, a shower and somewhere to work. If your room was in use by another guest the day before you will have access by 2pm, but probably earlier.
Staying with Us
Your room is serviced every day.
Laundry
If you give us your washing in the morning, we will have it back to you the next morning at no charge. If you want it ironed, we will charge you $10 per load. We are equally happy to bring an ironing board to your room. But if you come back in the middle of the day and need something ironed urgently, we are happy to do that for you as well.
Eating at Fale Yau
Breakfast is provided every morning and you can choose where you want to eat it. In the Kitchen, in the Dining Room, on the Veranda or even in your toom the choice is yours.
If you are hungry during the day take advantage of the 24hr Fridge. Just open it up and make yourself a sandwich, a salad or a snack. It is just like being at home.
Help yourself to tea and coffee during the day and keep hydrated by filling up your glass or bottle from the water cooler.
In the evening we offer guests Kitchen Suppers. Normally, they are a single course supper typical of what most families eat at home. Pasta, BBQ, Stir Fry, salads, stews, fish, meat, vegetarian. They are certainly what our family has eaten over the years. In the morning we will let you know what will be cooking in the evening and you let us know if you want to share it. The price will be between $10-40.
Kitchen Suppers tend to be at 7.30. but if you give us notice we can arrange to have them a little earlier or later or keep something aside for you to have when you come home.
We can also cater for business breakfasts, lunches and dinners at Fale Yau.
Meetings at Fale Yau
We have 2 tables that can seat 10 people, 1 in the Dining Room and 1 on the Veranda. You are welcome to use those for meetings with your colleagues who are also staying with us. If you want to host meetings with outside colleagues those can be arranged and we can provide Tea, coffee, juice and water as well as morning tea and afternoon tea. There will be no fee for the meeting space but charges will be made for refreshments etc.
If you need more privacy you can meet in your room, where you have a seating area and if you wish we can bring in a trestle table and some chairs.
Wi-Fi
We have a land line connection connected to a very powerful router so every room in the house receives a strong signal.
Location
We are a short walk outside the CBD and Government Buildings. Close to restaurants, coffee shops and bars. We are also close To Suva’s favourite walking and jogging areas the seawall and Albert Park. Only 100m away is the Metro Gym
Unwind at Fale Yau
It’s a home built for unwinding. Whether you want sink into an old-fashioned armchair at the end of a long day, relax on the veranda watching the sun go down or float in the pool watching the fruit bats fly overhead for their evening feast you can do it at Fale Yau. Unlike a hotel you will do in privacy and in peace and quiet without hundreds of other guests all trying to unwind around you.
Security at Fale Yau
The only access to Fale Yau is through a remote-controlled gate. That means access is strictly controlled and only people with a reason for being there are allowed entry.
Your bedroom has a key and the only other people entering it will be Mereoni or Litia to service your room. You will also find a safe in your room to lock away your valuables and private papers.
